The article is devoted to the verbalization of the concept of WISDOM in the discourse of the English-language author’s tale and the interpretation of the concept of the author’s tale. The article reflects the process of transition from a myth to a fairy tale and the difference between a literary and folklore tale. The structure of the author’s fairy tale is explained and the genre peculiarity of the literary tale is depicted.
The author’s fairy tale has origins from folklore and myths. In their fairy tales, the authors use both their own invented heroes and borrow from folk art. The classification of the author’s fairy tale arose after the combination of various factors in the construction of a fairy tale. The plot of the literary fairy tale does not repeat itself. The author of the literary fairy tale mixes the signs of folk tales (uses fabulous formulas – rhythmic prose phrases, cliché descriptions of the scene, general folklore epithets) with fairy tales about animals, novelist fairy tales, anecdotal tales, magic fairy tales, mythological fairy tales, cumulative tales. In the author’s fairy tales, the motifs of fairy tales about animals (animal epic) are clearly expressed.
It is the author’s position, pronounced in the literary tale, that allows identifying borrowings taken from the ideological and aesthetic system of folk tales. It takes into account the orientation of a particular listener and his perception, the effect of genre expectation, the attitude to the miracle and its justification.
