LINGUISTIC PECULIARITIES OF UNESCO DOCUMENTS DEDICATED TO SECURING THE RIGHT TO EDUCATION

The research is aimed at analyzing English UNESCO documents that deal with educational issues. Achieving this goal involves such tasks as: to characterize international documents and their types; to distinguish preconditions for the creation of international documents; to define the genre and stylistic features of UNESCO documents that deal with educational issues; to delineate the structure and linguistic peculiarities of the documents studied. UNESCO documents that deal with educational issues were chosen to be the material of the research. The concept of a functional style is outlined in the article, the classification of functional styles is provided, and a generalized classification of the substyles of official documents style is suggested. The linguistic features of the specified type of documents is given, namely, the linguistic features that differentiate it from other types of documents. It was found that there are few linguistic studies on the structure of such documents as declarations, resolutions, and conventions, which makes our research topical. The principles of structure of the specified documents and the preconditions for their creation are revealed. The main document entries of UNESCO documents that deal with educational issues have been identified, as well as the linguistic features of such parts of international documents as title, preamble, main part, final rulings, annexes, and explanatory remarks.
