Abstract

This article introduces methodological recommendations for improving the effectiveness of teaching in listening. It presents an analysis that makes it possible to orient and choose such training programs, through which opportunities are provided for intensification of the learning process. Intensification of the educational process is carried out through intercultural foreign competence, which helps future specialists to overcome cultural barriers and conflicts and acts as a cultural intermediary. The article highlights the importance of this kind of communicative activity as listening. Therefore, one of the most urgent tasks of teaching English is the formation of skills for this type of activity to improve its professional level, to implement effective business and interpersonal communication. The article focuses on the selection of exercises for listening. It is necessary to select tasks that contain information of local lore and national cultural character. When you are teaching listening, you need to use as much as possible authentic materials that reproduce the real circumstances that are characteristic for the life of native speakers. Particular attention is paid to assignments for the formation of sociocultural behavior in a foreign environment, as well as communicative tasks (role play, discussion, round table, dramatization, writing “Summary” and others. In the article an important role is given to exercises that develop memory such as reproducing short texts and dialogues. Using video materials, students can work out real life situations.
