Abstract

The article is devoted to the research of floronomens in the composition of the comparisons of the artistic texts of Olga Kobylyanska.
The individual author’s vision of the world is reflected not only in the lexical means of nomination, but in the system of the tropes, which show the associative connections on the mental level of the language picture of the world. There are a lot of subjective connections, which find the reflection in the language images of one or another event in the individual author’s picture. That is determined the peculiarities of the author’s idea style. These peculiarities are focused mostly in tropes. The most important element in the system of tropes in the idea style of any writer is comparisons.
The comparisons don’t only verbalize the element of the language picture of the world, but give an opportunity to follow the process of making an individual author’s picture of the world, help in developing the author’s creative idea. As a language artistic method, the comparisons are based on compounding the terms, paralleling images and associative connections.
Among the imaginative means of artistic language the comparisons differ in their activity of usage which are motivated by this trope, that is for giving concrete expression making the image more expressive while comparing one thing or another.
In the research the artistic – stylistic functions of the comparing phrase in the composition of which there are floronomens have been characterized. It has been pointed out the semantic of floronomen in the language of the author’s works, found out their individual author’s peculiarities of functioning.
