The article deals with the study of the linguistic objectification of a coloristic ethnocultural code in I. Kalynets’ poetic texts. The tropes of the axis of pseudo-identity selected from the collections “Awakened Muse” and “Slave Muse” are the material of the study.
It has been found that the coloristic ethnocode in I. Kalynets’ poetry is objectified mostly in tropes with components indicating white, green, gold, blue, red and black colors. The forms of verbalization of these colors have been traced, and their ethno-cultural semantics has been described.
It has been established that color images in I. Kalynets’ poetic thesaurus are polysemantic and ambivalent, usually appealing to the mental and emotional spheres. Colors as the components of the tropes of the axis of pseudo-identity more often mark the sacred situations of love (red), death (white, black), polyworlds (fairy-tale (gold), “alien space” (green)).
The ethno-cultural meaning of the color determines its descriptive function. The semantics of color is either contaminated with ethnocultural meaning or leveled. The image of the subject of comprehension is modeled by activation of the ethnocultural meaning of the color, while duplicating (white angel), intensification (black sadness) or giving a new quality (green moon), an indicating intertextuality (green Gospel).
I. Kalynets’s associative-minded orientation on folk culture has been confirmed, peculiarities of the individual and authorial reception of Ukrainian ethno-cultural representations in his tropical system have been revealed.
