The article analyses the main methods of forming foreign language communicative competence for the students of non-linguistic specialties. The special attention is paid to the methods of teaching a foreign language at the contemporary non-linguistic higher educational institution. Besides, the article also considers the interactive methods applied to teaching a foreign language for professional purposes and supply the educational process with implementing the innovative technologies of forming professional foreign language competence in the communicative aspect as globalization processes require a qualitatively new approach to teaching a foreign language to the future specialists, and this approach presupposes not only mastering the main competences, but it also implies profound knowledge of the socio-cultural peculiarities. In addition, it was also carried out the analysis of the information technologies means in the formation of foreign language communicative competence.
