MEANS OF CREATING A COMIC IN FRENCH AND UKRAINIAN SATIRICAL EDITIONS (A STUDY OF CHARLIE HEBDO NEWSPAPER AND THE PERETS MAGAZINE)

The article deals with the peculiarities of creating a comic in French and Ukrainian satirical editions on the basis of the French newspaper Charlie Hebdo and the Ukrainian magazine Perets. Comic forms including humor and satire are described. Humor helps to overcome stress, and satire, which aims to ridicule the politicians etc., is an effective mouthpiece that conveys the popular dissatisfaction, helps to cope with the vices of society. Each satirical magazine, as the center of this information struggle, has its own means of creating a comic, exposing effect.
Unlike Perets's satire, Charlie Hebdo's satire is straightforward, almost without equivoques. There are no taboo topics for this newspaper; it is characterized by a lack of norms, neither moral nor linguistic, the use of rude, abusive words. Such a caustic, sharp satire serves to draw readers' attention to problems and events, to form a critical image of politics and modern politicians.
The study identified such means of creating a comic effect as allusion, metaphor, personification. Due to the metaphor, the author hides real people or phenomena under specific images with appropriate associations, with the help of certain words and phrases they reveals their essence by similarity or contrast. The allusions focus on erudite Ukrainian readers. In addition, the comic effect in the two editions is achieved through such a stylistic figure as hyperbole, as well as puns (based on homophones).
