Abstract

The article considers the language ways of embodiment the concept of «HUMANISM» in the works of the Renaissance writer and philosopher François Rabelais.
The concept is considered by the authors of the article as an element of the connection of thinking and language, as a unit of operational aweareness, that is depicted as a coherent reflection of a real fact, a fragment of reality. The concept of “HUMANISM” is presented in three dimensions: 1) a group concept, linguistic-cognitive 2) a linguistic-cultural concept with an ethno-cultural component of the French vision of humanism; 3) an artistic (individual) concept that reflects twice mediated artistic picture of the world using the author’s language.
The article develops 3 models of this concept: an ideal schematic model, its language embodiment in the form of a prototype frame and a frame model of the verbalization of the concept «HUMANISM» in the first part of F. Rabelais’ novel «Pantagruel».
