POSTMODERNISM AS AN IMAGE AND STYLE SYSTEM OF LITERARY EXPERIENCE

Abstract

The article studies the theoretical basis of postmodernism – cultural and philosophical problems of poststructuralism, which is characterized by the expression of the illogical essence of the world structure, the total destruction of the subject and any integrity. Postmodernism clearly characterizes the new post-industrial society with its decentralized worldview and self-awareness. At the same time, postmodern literary discourse reproduces a rhizomatic world model. Postmodernism stood out in the literary process due to its changeability, immanence, mythopoetics, fragmentation, irrationality, hypersymbolism, ambivalence and intertextuality.
The concept of intertextuality, which is related to the idea of neoclassical philosophy regarding the active importance of the sociocultural environment in the processes of meaning understanding and meaning generation, occupies an honorable place in postmodern artistic discourse. Marking postmodern literary discourse, this textual category includes other texts, thus creating a special semiotic space.
Intertextuality is defined as a textual category inseparable from textuality; it is viewed as a phenomenon, the consideration of which is a key to understanding the meaning of the text of postmodern literary discourse, and as a fundamental principle of text creation, which is expressed not only at the intertextual, but also at the intratextual level. In postmodern fiction, the category of intertextuality creates a fragmented text that interacts with other texts. Serving as a structural feature of literary texts of postmodern fiction, it provides an increase in the literary work meaning, thus forming its historical and philological context. In the literary work, semantic associations with previous texts are traced, and a complex intertextual communicative space is formed, which contributes to the dynamics of general textual semantics, structural and semantic integrity of the text as a heterogeneous structure.
