REPRESENTATION OF THE ARTISTIC IMAGES OF THE MAIN CHARACTERS IN THE WORKS OF HANS CHRISTIAN ANDERSEN

Abstract

The work of the outstanding Danish writer of the 19th century, Hans Christian Andersen, was in the focus of attention of representatives of literary criticism even in the pick of his talent. The state of things has not changed to this day. After all, we can say with confidence that Andersen is one of those authors with whom we get to know in early childhood, during the period when parents open the magical world of literature to us by reading fairy tales at night. And it was fairy tales that became the hallmark of the Danish writer’s work. But his literary heritage includes novels, essays, short stories, dramatic and poetic works. And a significant part of them have been translated into many languages of the world. The creative manner of the author, his genius, worldview and talent cause a lively discussion in the scientific world, which determines the relevance of this scientific research, since to this day the final point has not been set (probably, and will not be set for a long time) in the issue of researching various aspects of creativity G.K. Andersen. In this scientific study, an attempt is made to analyze the linguistic means of creating artistic images of characters in fairy tales and stories by H.K. Andersen to determine their role in the process of perceiving and understanding the author’s creative manner, worldview, and ideology. During the work on the research, it was determined that one of the most common ways of representing the artistic image of the character is the indirect author’s characteristic, which includes, among other things, the author’s characteristic of the character. Along with this, the writer pays little attention to the portrait description of the characters, apparently considering it less expressive than the actions and thoughts of the characters.
