TO THE ISSUE OF USING THE PROJECT METHOD IN THE PROCESS OF ORGANIZING INDEPENDENT WORK WHEN LEARNING ENGLISH FOR SPECIFIC PURPOSES

In the article, the authors analyze the peculiarities of the formation of professional foreign language competence. The main attention is paid to the forms of organization of independent work of higher education students in the process of learning a foreign language for professional purposes. Foreign language proficiency is becoming a necessary skill for specialists in various professions. Independent work plays an important role in the organization of the educational process. The project method is considered one of the most effective ways to organize independent work. The authors describe its main stages, features and advantages. It is noted that this method promotes the integration of knowledge, the development of independence, critical thinking and communication skills of students. Particular attention is paid to the role of the teacher in creating favourable conditions for the implementation of project activities, and various forms of project work are proposed. As a result, it is mentioned that the project method is an effective tool for improving students’ foreign language competence and their competitiveness in a foreign language environment.
The purpose of the article is to study the project method in the process of preparing tasks for students’ independent work when learning English for specific purposes. The authors reveal the essence of this method, its features, stages and application in the educational process.

The development of foreign language communicative competence in higher education students is one of the priority tasks of the educational process at non-language faculties. Mastering the peculiarities of professional and business communication in a foreign language promotes mutual understanding between specialists and ensures effective communication in a professional environment.
