Abstract

The article deals with the problems of semantic adaptation and meaning development of the English borrowings in the German language. The sociolinguistic state of the German language development and the factors helping to formulate this state have been described. Special attention has been devoted to the analysis of the issues concerning the process of the English borrowings and the phenomena accompanied.
