Abstract

It deals with figure of Gashka The Princess from Ostroh in drama by Lev Lopatynskyi the actor of theatre in Ruska Besida Society. In the article some themes derivated from semantics of texts about Kings Ostroh family (mythical semantic segments) and struggle for owe on estate and property (pragmatic segment) are considered. Such as confession identification and status of main figures (Beata from Kosteletsky, Lukas Gurka, Dmytro Sanhushko and others), realization in text of problem with faith and matter of honour, virtue of resignation and evil of greedy, power and submissiveness. Themes to be adequated to author contempo-rary’s experience are problems with divorce and amassing of capital. They are involved into text of drama and are discribed as intolerable experiment. The main conflict is construct by dramatist to be comparison and opposition of deferent life practice and deferent ways of communication with the Most High. Struggle of Beata The Princess for breaking off marriage ties and liberty for her daughter is drawn to be her pride and her violence. Halshka is winner owing to submissiveness and has a chance to return to Motherland but was defeated in demonstrating of her way of life – neither violence no money, severe holding personal convictions. In article it’s defined main recourses of plot situation: historical story by German writer Jacob Karo. Lev Lopatynsky adopted some melodramatic schemes from Karo‘s narrative: frequent tears, susceptible to affests and fit of nerves. And it’s described pressure of critic response on creative process of drama.
