CYRILLIC MANUSCRIPTS IN THE FUNDS OF THE STATE SCIENTIFIC LIBRARY IN PESOV

Abstract

Research of the Cyrillic manuscripts that is stored in Presov libraries have almost a century. Czech Slavic Milos Veynhart, Joseph Vashitsa analysed them. Two books about these manuscripts were published by Paul Shima. In 1996, English Slavic Kleminson continued working on these studies, he has described the 62 Cyrillic manuscripts that were saved in Slovakia, six of them – in Presov State Scientific Library. In 2009 library that was mentied earlier prepared book publication of these manuscripts. Today in the collections of the State Scientific Library such Cyrillic manuscripts are preserved: Akafist, and polemical theology dohmatne, three Gospels, two communities irmologion, Typicon written by Ivan Mikhailovich. These nine manuscripts XVI-XIX are unique monuments of book culture of Ukrainians from eastern Slovakia and deserve for the proper attention by researchers.
