Abstract

The article deals with the usage peculiarities of the new generation internet technologies of podcasts and blogs in the process of prospective English teachers’ professional competence formation, particularly the essence of the e-learning and web 2.0 technology being effective means in the formation of highly qualified, competitive and mobile English teacher has been determined. The analysis of theoretic and methodological basis and practical experience regarding the usage of podcasts and blogs in the foreign languages study in higher learning institutions has been carried out in the article. The classifications of podcasts and blogs as the means of two- and multisided communication, peculiarities and advantages of their usage in the process of prospective English teachers’ professional competence formation, algorithm of their application have been examined; the most popular podcast sources have been given; recommendations on blogs and podcasts creation and usage have been provided; the examples of their usage at Theory and Practice of Oral and Written Communication, Theory and Practice of Translation have been given; the creation of teacher’s blog for students-philologists in order to optimize the learning process has been exemplified specifically its structure and rubrics, examples of the pages.
