Abstract

The object of the study in the article, are works that are considered canonical through a huge ideological and aesthetic potential. The article presents comparative study of historical and philosophical-biblical category of revenge as the cause of conflict, the English hero of Hamlet («Hamlet» by William Shakespeare) and in Ukrainian hero of Bohdan Khmelnytsky («Berestechko» by Lina Kostenko), which are the main characters in the mentioned literature, using historical, cultural, social and national processes. Also quite productively investigated the motive of revenge and its impact on the formation of the characters, according to the situations described with the projection of the present and its consequences in the lives of the characters. The article deepens interpretative field and contributes to a better comprehension of the ideological and aesthetic parameters of the creative heritage of using intertextuality Shakespeare and Lina Kostenko. Made a discourse of the phenomenon of personal revenge through the prism of history through the context of the tragedy of the English and Ukrainian Poetry Novel.
Analyzed the motive of revenge through of the genre. Monologues-cases to nowhere intense tragedy of «Hamlet». For Bohdan Khmelnitsky is a monologue confession of the Hetman as a regular person and military leader, who is deeply experiencing the most difficult time of my life – the defeat of Berestechko, which was the result of revenge. Both heroes are forked and single. Each revenge leads, as a result, new victims. The Hamlet’s way from depression to personal and family destruction is a road to nowhere. The Ukrainian leader as an optimist, a patriot, is undergoing an internal duality with thoughts about independence. Therefore, the reflection time is not.
