Interview in the discourse of glossy magazines : modern state

The article deals with the analysis of lingual characteristics of the interview in glossy magazines of mass-media discourse. The distinctive features of the interview, as a peculiar genre of the discourse of glossy magazines, are examined in pragmatic, cognitive, lingual, stylistic, structural aspects and from the point of view of the content. It is proved that modern interview is characterized by the display of the author’s modality, combination of standard and expressive elements, conversational and official styles, evaluativity. Its texts are treated as being partially creolized because the meaning of verbal elements in them is intensified through the use of non-verbal components and iconic signs. The results of the research show that genre interview in glossy magazines has a flexible and dynamic character that is proved by a number of changes in it.
