THE SPECIFIC OF MODIFICATIONS OF THE PHRASEOLOGICAL UNITS IN GERMAN NEWSPAPER TEXTS

The article is concerned with the study of the phraseological modifications as an occasional phenomenon on the level of speech and their functions in political journalism on material «Die Zeit», «Der Tagesspiegel», «Berliner Zeitung». The transformation of phraseological units with gastronomic component is individual authorʼs, is based on the deviance from a language norm and leads to transformation of semantic, imagery and changes in phraseological unit composition. The article contains a detailed description of types of semantic and structural modifications of phraseological units with gastronomic component. Phraseological modifications are effective means of language «economy» in communication: they contribute to the shrinking of the text and compression of the information. The most important pragmatic functions of phraseological modifications lie in stimulating the reader’s motivation, leading his attention, concealing the information and creating metalinguistic reflections.
