Abstract

The given article considers figurative-notional names of GOD in the poetic picture of world of Taras Shevchenko; highlights their dominant lexical-semantic groups, synonymic nominations, figurative-notional typology, phraseological linguounits; provides the classification of nominative structures by the core representing nomen. In fiction works, names are represented as exponents of idiolect and individual outlook of the writer. Poetically-oriented texts interpret nominations with preserved religious meaning, but this meaning additionally has everyday-life content, pertaining to a certain period of time. Nominative structures reflect a change of the Christian world model and mental opinions under the influence of cultural-social development. The author’s view of the world through addressing phrases, phraseological and metaphorical units represents transformational features of nominations from positive-evaluative sacral till negative-evaluative everyday-life ones with the author’s creative inventions. In poetic works, names of GOD have a marked Biblical-Christian content, but also often receive negative shades. Apart from the positively-oriented structures, Lord is referred to as bringing punishment for unrighteousness and lawlessness. In texts GOD is mostly observed in the monotheistic interpretation, He is often called as God the Father.
