DERIVATION MEANS IN THE TEACHING UKRAINIAN AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE

This article provides an overview of linguistics and links to other linguistic disciplines, including analysis of relations derivation and teaching Ukrainian as a foreign language (UFL), which exist in current Ukrainian linguistic researches. Within the view of connections of derivation study and linguistics, the author illustrates the importance of the study of structural word synonyms, derivational nests and characteristics of individual structural word topical groups of words in the course of Ukrainian as a foreign language. The author of the article analyzes the application of derivation means in UFL on all levels, based on communication textbooks on UFL that meet the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. The conducted analysis made it possible to establish the patterns, methods and models of use of derivation means, which the textbooks’ authors of UFL used, and to outline the perspectives in the research process of derivation aspect for teaching Ukrainian as a foreign language.
