THEORETICAL AND CONCEPTUAL APPROACHES TO THE INTERPRETATION OF THE CONCEPT COL - LOCATION IN THE FORENSIC LINGUISTICS
Keywords:
collocation, collocate, syntactic model, component structure of collocationsAbstract
Collocations are considered to be the very important and frequent linguistic phenomenon. The vocabulary of any language is full of such combinations of words, the structure of which is marked by only certain words, or in which the words are associated only in that (and not in some others) combination, forming a Syntagma with the new meaning. The definition of collocation is a matter of heated dispute, and it seems like each scholar chooses to define it either in overly general terms or according to the specific aims of their study. The value of collocational knowledge is very important for linguistic research and
educational purposes. Although the term came to be known mostly through Firth, several linguists have already commented on it several years before.
The article analyzes the development and the alterations of the concept collocation in the Forensic linguistics, that allows to understand how it is that in modern literature a two-way understanding of the notion of collocation can be met (narrower and broader). In this article an attempt has been made to show how the collocation phenomenon has been indicated implicitly or explicitly.
