Over decades, English has been used as the language for international professional communication; however, it was until recently recently that English for Specific Purposes (ESP) became the most widespread instructional language in higher education institutions. The rapid implementation of Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) classrooms across Europe responds to academic pressing needs in higher education institutions to attract international students, promote teacherstudent exchange programmes and ultimately adapt higher education institutions to the new demands of professional markets. The purpose of this article is a short survey of the main trends and issues relating innovative forms of teaching ESP, while studying the foreign languages in the modern technical higher school, in the light of our country integration to the European and World educational area. The authors of the article are making a brief review of major tendencies and conceptual approaches to the issue of nontraditional forms of instruction while teaching foreign languages in non-linguistic tertiary school. The authors also discus the issues of application of the blended learning technology when teaching foreign language at higher schools.
