SYMBOLISM AND SIGNIFICANCE OF THE FLORAL POETICAL IMAGES IN «THE SHI JING»

One of the distinctive features of the Chinese literature is its unique and special subtext nature, which has already been noticed in the ancient monuments of the Chinese literature, particularly in the collection of poems «The Shi Jing». Implicit meanings of poetic images create by the active using symbols and signs, which have stated meanings, formed in the human conscience. These images let readers decode extra senses and emotions. The floral poetic images are an important part of symbols and signs. So in the paper subtext meanings are investigated on the basis of the analysis symbolism and significance of the floral poetic images. The specific subtext nature of «The Shi Jing», where the main senses are implicit, is described. The importance of the flora in the life of the Chinese is characterized. The symbolism and significance of the floral images are studied in details. The great influence of «The Shi Jing» upon the development of the Chinese literature, especially upon the forming the subtext nature, its dominant poetical feature, is found out.
