COMPRESSED TEXT IN MASS MEDIA DISCOURSE OF UKRAINIAN LANGUAGE SEGMENT OF THE INTERNET NETWORK

At present the pragmatic-communicative paradigm of modern linguistics is aiming at studying the problem of laconic presentation of information in mass media and, as its consequence, the popularity of the compressed texts. These texts give an opportunity to a producer to condense the informative structure of the text to shorter volume. The means of language economy help to shorten not only the volume of the text without the loss of information, but also the time necessary for reading it that is attractive for information consumers.
Article deals with linguistic descriptions of the compressed media texts of Ukrainian language segment of the Internet network. It has been investigated genre range, pragmatic attractiveness for readers, specific means of information condensation and reduction of quantitative volume in these texts. In accordance with our research, most of genres in the Internet can be compressed: traditional media genres (brief article, infographic, comment, digest, title, weather forecast, press review, announcement and others), and the Internet genres that have been recently formed such as meme, tweet, pin, hashtag, Instagram message, status.
From the results it is concluded that the Internet compressed texts use the common language economy means (syntactic, grammatical, lexical, semantic, stylistic, graphic ones) and specific ones that are peculiar to digital mass media: hypertextuality, multimodality, interactivity, “split text”.
The problems of the compressed Internet texts have not studied in detail yet and need different strategies to be investigated.
