Abstract

The paper describes theoretical foundations of the problem of communicative competence in formation in students of humanities in the process of studying philological subjects. The humanistic, personality-activity and competency approaches are determined as leading theoretical approaches to the research. The content and essence of the concepts “competence”, “competency”, “communicative competence of students of the humanities” are specified. Humanistic characteristics of the process of forming the communicative competence of students of humanities. Communicative competence of the future specialist is defined as a basic characteristic of his personality, based on his formed knowledge, abilities, skills and personal qualities that are implemented in communicative activities. Communicative competence of students of the humanities is defined as a set of communicative knowledge, skills, personal qualities of future specialist which reflects the willingness and ability of the student to implement successful communicative interaction in the humanitarian sphere, based on meaningful and emotionally supportive communication, which provides an effective solution of tasks of humanitarian specialities.
The expediency of implementation of the results in the system of professional training of future humanities specialists is demonstrated because communicative competence is the basis of successful professional and social inclusion of young people.
