MATERIALS FOR THE DICTIONARY OF THE INHABITANTS OF LVIV REGION 2

Abstract

The article focuses on modern nicknames spread in Lviv region. The nickname of the Lviv region as a component of the general system of ukrainian national anthroponymy is the subject of a special scientific analysis. Individual, territorial nicknames have been outlined for the first time in the thesis from the point of view of motivation basis, using wide range of factual material. The purpose of article is lexical and semantic basis, emotional and expressive colouring, associative relations, structure and nominative nature of the nicknames. Practical principles of the study of anthroponomy concerning national mode of life and unofficial names in Lviv region have been analyzed in the thesis. There have been determined lexical structure of nicknames and the causes for their naming have been identified in the thesis. Word-building structure of nicknames have been baced and typical, non-typical samples have been defined.The motive for creating the nicknames of the inhabitants of Lviv region is the characteristic of appearance, mental characteristics, activity, social characteristics, place of living, family relationships.There have been compiled a dictionary of individual and territorial nicknames of the Lviv region residents have been given.
