STYLE-FORMING ROLE OF TOPOPOETONYMS IN TEXTS OF LARYSA DENYSENKOʼS NOVELS

Modern linguistic studios demonstrate growing of research interest in the aspects of stylistics, in particular, traditionally for the writers’ language creativity. Literary-art text as an object of versatile linguistic and stylistic analysis is a welcome material for the study of linguistic units which are actualized in this text, performing a stylistic role. Studying the peculiarities of functioning of different language levels’ units, researcher uncovers the connection of the text with the author’s worldview, decodes the meanings embedded in the tokens which are subject to linguistic and stylistic analysis. The article analyzes various manifestations of style-forming role of topopoetonyms in texts of Larysa Denysenkoʼs novels. Specificity of the author’s use of topopoetonyms as linguistic units with the purpose of spatial factor of literary-art text has been clarified. Topopoetonyms serve as markers of the writer’s idiostyle, cohesive plot elements, and also act as a means of personages’ characterization through additional stylistic stratifications. The illustrations of realization of topopoetonymsʼ stylistic role in representation of geographical objects as characters through metonymization, personification of places by giving them the properties of being are described. It’s established that due to topopoetonymsʼ semantic loading, their pragmatic potential of decoding the author’s concept is realized.
