OPINION IN THOUGHTS AS A METHOD FOR FIXING THE THINKING PROCESS IN THE PROSE TEXTS OF MARGARET DRABBLE

Thought in thought has structural-semantic features that express its communicative nature: intimacy, virtuality, lack of logic, breaks of logic, the presence of unusual logical connections, entanglement, stretching, or sudden compression of sense, sense accumulation. Observations on the language of English-language postmodern novels by M. Drabble give reason to say that the discourse zones of the character and narrator, which arise against the background of the system of modes of broadcasting, as well as being in narrative dialogue, develops in the reader the idea of the character as a thinking and speech personality as artistic intelligence and also enables the author to implicitly express his attitude to the events occurring in the text.
In fact, all the communicative sphere of the text of art appears in front of the reader in the form of two discourse zones – the narrator and the characters. Interacting with each other, these two zones form a discursive (thinking-speaking) space of artistic text. And if the narrator’s narrative manner is a reflection of the written form of the language and formed by the compositional and speech forms of the narrative, then the thinking and speech activity of the character – its conversational mode of a particular textual age is reflected in the architectonic and speech forms of the text.
