DEVELOPING ENGLISH LANGUAGE WRITING SKILLS OF FUTURE TEACHERS-PHILOLOGISTS BY USING INTERNET RESOURCES

Abstract

The article is devoted to an overview of issues related to the study of teaching future teachers-philologists English language writing skills. Modern society and a competitive labour market both in Ukraine and elsewhere in the world require that English language teachers should use new information technologies in teaching a foreign language. It is necessary to solve a large number of didactic tasks of teaching future teachers English language writing skills, such as: to develop etiquette of written English language and to master skills of creating and formulating written message of various kinds (private / official letters, an application form, a thank-you letter, an invitation letter, a complaining letter, an E-mail message, an essay, a summary, an abstract, to apply for some job etc.).
Based on practical experience, it is determined that University teachers use computers and other technical equipment in English classes. However, the use of the Internet for the development of students’ English language writing skills is almost not practiced.
The article describes the possibilities of Internet resources, identifies sites aimed at teaching English language writing skills and clarifies the types and forms of written works that future teachers-philologists should master in accordance with the pedagogical university program.
It has been researched that one of the leading tasks of modern higher educational institutions is a qualitative preparation of future graduates for professional activity. It has been proved that this goal can be achieved by systematic practice in foreign language communication, not only verbally, but also in writing, organized on the basis of innovative methods of teaching and using the opportunities of the Internet.
