COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF COMMUNICATION STRATEGIES AND TACTICS IN ANGELA MERKEL'S AND PETRO POROSHENKO'S SPEECHES

Abstract

The article is devoted to topical problems of modern political communication, its linguopragmatic and psycholinguistic aspects. The paper analyzes the speeches of former German Chancellor Angela Merkel and former President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko. The authors of the article considered the communication strategies and tactics that are often used in the speeches of politicians in Germany and Ukraine. The authors studied the specifics of the speech of politicians and identified the patterns of use of various communication techniques, in accordance with the goal that politicians needed to achieve. Particular attention was paid to the strategy of self-presentation and tactics of identification and solidarity that implement it, as well as strategies for forming the emotional mood of the recipient and its implementing tactics of emphasizing positive information and addressing the emotions of the recipient. In addition, a comparative analysis of the linguistic techniques used in the speeches of Angela Merkel and Petro Poroshenko was carried out. The methods of using communicative strategies and tactics discussed in the article can be used for further research in linguistic and political discourses. Currently, the study of political speech is very relevant. After all, by analyzing the experience of previous politicians, current and future government officials of a country can avoid many mistakes and establish strong contacts with their domestic and foreign partners. Also in the framework of linguistics and psycholinguistics, the study of speeches of politicians can be useful for developing patterns of language behavior of politicians, to identify features of influence on the minds of recipients of different levels: the voter audience and the partner audience.
