Keywords:
nomination of the cyber sphere, lexical unit, lexical-semantic group, semantics, word-forming element Cyber-.Abstract
The study presents an analysis of the semantics of German cyberspace nouns, demonstrates a semantic characteristics of German nouns with a word-forming element of English Cyber-, originating from the English language. The data of lexicographical sources related to the mentioned issues are highlighted.
The object and the subject of study were described, the aim was stated and the research perspectives were outlined.
The research material was a solid sample of nouns with the word-forming element Cyber- from the authoritative interpretive dictionary of the modern German language Duden and the most widely circulated German-language newspapers «Die Welt», «Die Zeit», «Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung» and «Süddeutsche Zeitung».
The article represents the filling of the lexical-semantic groups identified during the research. The developed classification of lexical units made it possible to systematize the collected material and represent relationships within groups.
It was established that lexical-semantic groups are not equally productive. The isolated groups are heterogeneous in terms of the number of words that they include (lexical-semantic groups have a different number of lexical units), however, they can be considered homogeneous in the nature of the relations between them.
A significant part of the analyzed words is not recorded in lexicographical sourses, issues of interpretive parameterization, dictionary codification and standardization still require detailed study.
Research perspectives include the study of words that have other foreign language components, which will make it possible to identify their specificity in the German lexicon, trace the dynamics of development, study the word-forming potential, mobility, systematize such vocabulary, etc.
