Abstract

The article deals with complex constructions with a minimum number of homogeneous subordinates. The main structural types of such constructions are distinguished, their grammatical features are described, and the influence of the structure restriction on the expressive potential has been found out.
Constructions with homogeneous subordination (CHS) of minimal structure are the most widespread in the modern Ukrainian language. Their share, according to our data, is 73 % of all recorded CHS. The expediency of studying such constructions is proved, because, on the one hand, representing the most common model, they reflect the general features of constructions with homogeneous subordination, on the other hand, they have specific features related to the structure restriction.
The paper describes the CHS in terms of the order of placement of parts and components. It has been found that structures with homogeneous subordination of the minimum structure retain the same tendency to place the main part and subordinate components that is inherent in structures of different lengths.
The types of CHS are distinguished depending on the peculiarities of the use of subordinating and coordinating conjunctions. It is proved that the CHS of minimal structure are limited in the number of such structural types compared to the CHS with a larger number of homogeneous subordinates.
It has been found that three-component CHS realize common patterns in the syntactic and semantic-syntactic structure inherent in constructions of different lengths, namely the tendency to complicate subordinate components, the realization of transitional cases in the system of syntactic units, signs of parallelism in the structure of subordinate components, the possibility of expressing temporal, comparative, adversative, separating, causal semantic-syntactic relations in a block of homogeneous subordinate components.
CHS of minimal structure are limited in terms of expressive potential, but are capable of parcellation, repetition, parallelism, which contribute to emphasis, accentuation, rhythmicity, etc.
