The article “Translation Aspect of Special Non-Literary Vocabulary” examines the theoretical and practical aspects of translating vocabulary that does not belong to the artistic style, but is an important component of professional and everyday communication. Such vocabulary includes terms, professional jargonisms, and slang elements that have a clear contextual and functional coloring. The author analyzes the main difficulties that arise in the process of translating this vocabulary, in particular, the problems of equivalence, change or loss of semantic nuances, as well as the transmission of stylistic features in texts of various genres.
Attention is paid to the main translation strategies: transcription, tracing, adaptation, the use of functional analogues, as well as descriptive translation. The importance of taking into account the socio-cultural context is especially emphasized, since the vocabulary under consideration is often deeply rooted in the language of a certain professional or social community. In view of this, the translator must not only possess linguistic competence, but also understand cultural codes and the specifics of communicative situations in the original language and the target language.
The article emphasizes the need to adapt the translation to the expectations of the target audience, which ensures the effectiveness of interlingual communication. The conclusion is drawn about the feasibility of a comprehensive approach to the translation of special non-literary vocabulary, combining linguistic accuracy, stylistic adequacy and cultural relevance.
