Newspaper discourse, as an essential element of media communication, reflects socio-political realities and shapes the international community’s perception of Ukraine, especially after the full-scale invasion by the Russian Federation on February 24, 2022. The author analyses verbal representations of the concept «UKRAINE», including resilience, courage, tragedy, national identity, solidarity, and freedom, which reflect various aspects of the life and struggle of the Ukrainian people. The study reveals that newspaper materials play a crucial role in shaping the image of Ukraine as a resilient and heroic nation, highlighting the bravery of its citizens and leaders, the tragic consequences of war, and the significance of national symbols. Particular attention is paid to symbols that have gained media prominence, such as the ceramic cockerel and the dog Patron, representing resilience and heroism. The role of the media in shaping international audiences’ perception of Ukrainian events is also highlighted, showing how newspaper discourse conveys cultural, ethical, and political meanings. The results of the study confirm that the actualisation of the concept UKRAINE in English-language media is an essential tool for the linguistic and cultural representation of contemporary Ukrainian reality.
