THE EXISTENTIAL ASPECT OF LEADERSHIP IN THE CONDITIONS OF THE CURRENT CRISIS

The article examines the problem of effective leadership in the conditions of an all-encompassing modern crisis, analyzes a number of modern concepts in the direction of existentialism and their significance for understanding the nature of successful leadership. The author emphasizes that in a crisis situation of high uncertainty, such qualities as will, the ability to make free choices, the courage to make decisions and responsibility for their consequences are required from the leader, which require philosophers to consider them in the light of existentialism. Since the guiding and main characteristics of an effective leader are determined by authenticity, the ability to act in accordance with one's own beliefs and values, and not by externally imposed expectations. An important feature is the leader's ability to transcend – seeing the future, finding new opportunities beyond situational limitations. In addition, the author reveals the connection between existential maturity, self-realization of the leader's personality and his ability to act effectively in crisis conditions, offering followers a new system of meanings and meanings.
