The goal of the research has been to conduct a theoretical and empirical study of the levels of neurotic tendencies in winterers of the Ukrainian Antarctic expeditions and compare them with the levels of adaptation to extreme living conditions using mathematical statistical methods.
The study was carried out using the "Express Diagnostics of Heck-Hess Neurosis" method, as well as the theoretical analysis of the problem field, which involved the implementation of an interdisciplinary approach that integrated various scientific theories and concepts that covered the process of human adaptation, the information theory of emotions, the theory of stress, the synergistic approach, the concept of "human adaptation", the concept of health.
The study proved that the most adapted group in our study was the group of winter residents aged 35 to 64 years, especially interesting was the fact that representatives of the older group reveal the best indicators of adaptation to extreme living conditions. At the same time, representatives of all age groups have a low level of signs of neurosis as a certain indicator of their health..
It is shown that there is a significant direct relationship between the absence of signs of neurosis and the level of adaptability in winter residents. This indicates that the higher the level of adaptability/adaptation to extreme conditions, the higher the resistance of the human body to the adverse effects of the socio-natural environment, the occurrence of stress.
