Abstract

The purpose of this article – to analyze the social and linguistic factors of Joual, use phonostylistic joual variants in the play of Michel Tremblay «The Sisters-in-law», as well as the characteristics of their transmission in the written language, the usefulness of studing the phonetic variants of the joual in the classes on the French phonostylistics. The relevance of this
analysis due to the need to develop skills in students of phonostylistic research, as well as skills to systematize the results of research in which the subject lies in the field of phonostylistics, and at the intersection of the language disciplines. Since the joual is using in the literature and became a form of national identity of the francophone population of Quebec, there is a need to explore the ways to transfer joual in writing. The results of this study may be propose for a more detailed study of the
phonostylistic variation of the French language in Quebec literary works in the classroom for phonostylistics.
