Abstract

The article deals with the problem of semantic representation of the artistic image in the poetry of Marina Tsvetaeva translated into English and Ukrainian languages. The problem is caused by the necessity of axiological aspects study of the art of poetic translation. It is established that the poet Marina Tsvetaeva used comparisons that characterize the lyrical character with different sides throughout his life. The poet did not use direct comparison, which contributed to the ambiguity of perception of the artistic image in the English and Ukrainian languages. The comparison does not only enrich language vocabulary and expands the concepts in their new synthesis, but also creates artistic and poetic vision of the world. As for portrait comparison of the lyrical hero image, it has been concluded Marina Tsvetaeva used comparisons of two kinds: first, the comparison, describing the portrait or only external features of the image character; and, secondly, the inner world of the lyrical hero, filed by the characteristic external features.
