THE USAGE OF THE IDIOMATIC EXPRESSIONS CONVEYING THE FEELING OF LOVE IN THE MODERN ENGLISH SPEECH

Abstract

The research focuses on the idiomatic expressions of love in the modern English speech. The historical review of the origin of the units, their formation and classification both in the home and foreign Linguistics is based on the works and theories of the distinguished linguists. In the article the analysis of the nature, structural and semantic characteristics of the idioms and their grammatical peculiarities is carried out. A very important aspect of the research is the knowledge and understanding of the idiomatic semantic meaning, since it cannot be derived from the separate components of the unit, thus making the idioms peculiar by their nature.
In the research the usage of the idiomatic expressions conveying love in the context of communication in the modern English speech is studied. The stylistic function of the items is considered. There have been given a number of examples.
The aim of the research is to prove that the knowledge of the idioms themselves and their true semantic meaning and the correct usage of them in the process of communication is very important and should be further studied. All this makes the modern English language much more colorful, varied, romantic and helps to successfully express the human feelings of love towards each other, which, in the result, provides successful communication.
