Objective. The article analyzes English borrowings and neologisms that function in Ukrainian media.
Materials and Methods. Ukrainian newspapers served as foundation for illustrative material of the research that made it possible to identify examples of English borrowings and lexical neologisms. The examples were identified by sampling from 18 Ukrainian newspapers between 2019 and 2025 and cover new lexical units of the modern Ukrainian language. The number of the selection is 91 nominative units. The article illustrates a number of methods applied for the research. Content analysis of the leading electronic versions of Ukrainian mass media contributed to the identification of examples of illustrative material. The descriptive method was used to analyze the features of the identified English-language borrowings and neologisms that function in the media space of Ukraine. An analysis of dictionary definitions was useful for explaining certain semantic features of language tools. The contextual-situational method made it possible to clarify and interpret the content of the selected nominative units.
Results. In the lexical composition of the Ukrainian media language, we managed to identify groups of borrowings related to certain areas of socio-political life. The vast majority (91 units) are words related to: banking, IT, business, finance, new technological means of transport, the public sphere, politics, the military sphere, etc. The analysis of anglicisms and neologisms made it possible to outline the key areas of use of the identified lexical and terminological units. They indicate the dynamics of processes occurring in the economic, political and social space of Ukrainian society.
Conclusions. The Ukrainian language sustains significant changes under the influence of globalization processes as well as social changes taking place in Ukraine.
