VIKTOR YANUKOVYCH’S ELECTORAL SUCCESS IN THE 2010 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION: ON THE QUESTION OF A COMPLEX SET OF FACTORS

The 2010 presidential election marked a turning point in Ukraine’s recent political history, signaling a shift in the country’s political trajectory and bringing into focus the factors behind Viktor Yanukovych’s electoral success. Despite the widespread perception of the decisive role of support in the eastern regions, the grounds for his victory are multifaceted and encompass political, social, economic, and media aspects. This is precisely why the issue requires academic discussion and conceptualization within the framework of scholarly debate regarding the factors of electoral behavior in the context of post-revolutionary and post-conflict political transformations.
