Submission procedure

Scientific articles that are original, have not been previously published, and are not under consideration by other academic or professional journals are accepted for review by the journal “Agora. Social Sciences Journal”. The submission of a manuscript confirms that the author(s) adheres to this requirement.

The author(s) bear full responsibility for the following:

  • the content of the submitted material;
  • the accuracy of the data and research results provided;   
  • the correctness of the citations and references; 
  • compliance with the principles of academic integrity;   
  • adherence to ethical requirements for research (particularly those involving human participants) and requirements for data disclosure and storage, where applicable.

The publication accepts articles that:

  • contains scientific novelty;
  • consider current publications on relevant topics; 
  • correspond to the purpose and scientific priorities of the study; 
  • meet the requirements outlined in the guidelines for authors.

The article text must include the following elements.

  • introduction (statement of the problem);
  • literature review (analysis of recent research and publications);
  • aim and objectives; 
  • methods and data; 
  • results (presentation of the main research material); 
  • conclusions.

Estimated volume of materials:

  • articles (4,000–8,000 words);
  • reviews, scientific discussions, and overviews of scientific events (500–1,500 words).

All manuscripts submitted for publication undergo a double-blind peer-review process in accordance with the editorial policy. Based on the results of the review, the editorial board may decide to:

  • acceptance of the article for publication;
  • the need for manuscript revision;   
  • rejection of this article.

If necessary, the article may be returned to the author(s) for revision, considering the comments of the reviewers and/or the editorial board. The author(s) are required to provide the revised text and well-reasoned responses to comments within the specified timeframe.

The editorial board reserves the right to carry out linguistic, stylistic, and technical editing of the manuscript without altering its scientific contents. In the case of significant edits that may affect the content or interpretation of the material, the text will be coordinated with the author(s) as appropriate.

The views, conceptual approaches, and conclusions presented in the articles do not necessarily reflect the positions of the editorial board, editor-in-chief, or publisher.

The number of authors for a single article should not exceed five. After the manuscript is submitted to the editorial office, changes to the list of authors are not permitted.

Articles whose author(s) do not hold an academic degree must be accompanied by a review from a Doctor of Sciences in the relevant field or an extract from the minutes of the department meeting recommending the article for publication.   

The editorial board will not accept manuscripts with a bibliography that includes modern Russian translations or works by contemporary Russian authors published in Russian or other languages in any country, or citations of individuals who are Ukrainian citizens suspected of treason. Co-authorship with these individuals was not permitted.  

In addition to other files related to the research results, two files must be submitted to the editorial board of the journal: the title page and the manuscript. Materials can be submitted to the editorial office in person, by email at agora@oa.edu.ua or through the online submission system on the publication’s website.

Submitting an article to this publication implies the author(s)’ agreement with all editorial policies, including publication ethics, peer review, open access, copyright provisions, and confidentiality.
